Just thought i would post an update. i have since switched the coolant and tubing in my pc. I also switched out my two top fans for blue LED fans.

I still plain to switch out my pump and cpu waterblock as soon as i have the $$$... right now there was a little leak at the top because the push on fitting on the pump doesnt seal perfectly. this is due to my new tubing just not fitting 100% perfect. nothing on maingears part. again , i did this MYSELF.

i havent been on my computer in about 3-4 months now because of my little IDEA here. guess thats the price you pay when you mess with it yourself. it does **** sometimes when i look at it sitting there in the floor being neglected

but on the other hand i did learn a lot doing this and it will be all worth it when its done. it looks great now i think and functions a lot better as well.

one thing ive learned is that i personally hate push on fittings. i will get hardware with screw on fittings for the REST OF MY LIFE. this way i can use the bitspower fittings like you see in the pic (chrome fittings in pic) ....they are pretty much leak proof.

ill post more pics when ive finished 100%
(sorry about the quality. i took those a few months ago. i need to take new pics.)

Hello JD, you need more liquid in your Cooling system, because the tube that is pulling liquid to the pump has a lot of air. That can cause your system leak.

jbrown
11-25-2008, 01:21 AM
yeah i know, it is missing a bit. soon as i get the other parts im going to put more in. gonna add a drive bay res or a fillport either one too. its almost impossible to fill it up right now. too bad you guys wasnt putting in the fillports back when i ordered. you had just switched to that case though too so.... gotta learn some how right. i couldnt have put it together lol !

edit:
oh LOL big time. i just looked up. that is an older pic of when i was filling it up. i didnt even turn it on then. it wasnt full yet....
check a couple posts up where i put the link to my newer pics. i know you know you already seen though cause you posted in that link. either way incase someone sees the posts here they understand.

Can anyone post a picture of Shift from the backside with peripheral wires attached? Thanks in advance.

sjjohns23
11-19-2009, 05:20 PM
That would be impossible. Peripheral wires don't attach to the rear of the Shift case. They attach to the top.

ChrisMorley
11-19-2009, 07:06 PM
I'll see if I can't get a picture for you on how the connectors work.

sjjohns23
11-19-2009, 07:21 PM
Here's a picture I found at a review site. Obviously these wires would be covered by the case.

Damn dude, nice job on the panel cut!

Cimmaorv

The weld shop I run has a water jet. A buddy of mine used the solder faces from BC2 and the evil grin was kind of meant to be a sun. Oh thanks by the way.

You did this yourself? What did you put behind the cover, plexiglass?

Cimmaorv
09-28-2011, 12:57 AM
Yes I did this myself. Used and OMax water jet. I used acrylic. The guy at the plastic suppler said it was clearer. Not sure if its true but it was only $16 for the window.

Cimmaorv you forgot the most important picture of them all: the money shot, the hardware **** shot, the shot with the side panel off so that we can see it's sexy innards. That cut is outstanding looking, and two 590's, woo hoo. I'm thinking of two 6990's myself but that is an awesome build.

Cimmaorv
09-28-2011, 10:30 AM
Good point. Here is a picture of the inside. I also added a better picture of the cutout and the negative print from my cut program.

Does that fan on the 590's blow air in or out?

Cimmaorv
09-28-2011, 11:16 AM
I believe in.

Andy Hilton
09-28-2011, 11:25 AM
Hmm that means the right 590 is getting fed cool air but the left one is not. I'd like to know the temperature difference between the two cards at load. Who drew that?

Cimmaorv
09-28-2011, 12:09 PM
A friend of mine. He used the heads from BC2 and the evil grin I found out from him is a play on the grenade pin tag from the game. My temps under full load are around 85c for 3 of the cores. The forth one hits 90c. These are from running 3dmark vantage.

Cimmaorv how long did it take from the order to getting your system in hand? I have about the same build as you except I put the new GPU X2 cooling option. I ordered on 9/14 with an estimated ship of Oct 16. Just curious if I should expect delays.

Cimmaorv
10-02-2011, 07:09 PM
My system shipped one day later than the estimated date. Keep in mind (I did not) that the date is an estimate. Maingear took care of me by changing the shipping to get me my system faster.

Hello everyone

I'd like to thank the whole MAINGEAR staff for their professional and prompt treatment of my upgrade. My first MAINGEAR PC was the old style F131 (I believe) way back when they were located in Harrison, NJ. It had a custom Ferrari red paint job (I will post pics of that later if anyone is interested).

I recently did a major upgrade. I got a new chassis, power supply, 2 new video cards, a SSD, new ram, and OC'd my CPU. They are top notch pro's, always having the answer to my problems and completing my PC with a clean interior and a system that kicks ass and runs smoothly. :)

Here are my specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-940 3.2 OC to 4
Mobo: ASUS P6T
Ram: 6 Gigs Kingston DDR3 PC3-12800
GPU: 2X SLI nVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 (GF110-375)
Stoare: Kingston SSD 128gigs, 1T Western DIgital
PSU: SilverStone SST-ST 1000-G 1000 Watts
OS: Win7 64bit

My Rig:

I will probably get a new mobo, side panel, custom paint job and etching later on once $$ permits. Thanks again guys!
