ventrilo is a team communication program that allows you to use a headset with mic to talk to other people online..
Usually its used in team games such as CS, Cod4, WoW or just to talk with friends

well its free for us...
its like 100 slots so you can bring friends in and use one of the many channels for that game that are set up
or you can play with the teams in many games if you wanna learn tips and stuff like that

Is there any way to connect to a ventrilo server through Teamspeak? Because I really dislike the ventrilo client
Ventrilo client is a lot better than the teamspeak =X

no their two different clients..
I prefer ventrilo over teamspeak because the codec and quality of the voices are clearer on vent and i hear there are multiple other reasons.. only thing is teamspeak is easier to use.. but i meant once you learn vent its easy

You ain't kidding. I started off long ago using TeamSpeak. TeamSpeaks ok if you don't mind folks sounded like a frog being choked. I've been on a few different Vent servers including my own hosted using different codecs and all of them sound great assuming someone has decent mic (the cheap labtecs work best if you don't like headset setups).
TeamSpeak 3 is in the works, but Vent just had an update not too far back itself. Vent > TS for now.
