I'm new to these forums, but I am highly impressed with regard to the great comment after great comment that I have been reading from both these forums as well as from independent reviews.

Anyway, to my question. I would like (2) 8800 GTX cards, however I don't think my spending limit can fit that in. Which would do better, (2) nVidia 7950's or (1) nVidia 8800 GTX?

Also, I have concerns about power supply and cooling. As far as power I have read that one shold go with a 1kw power supply if you intend on using (2) 8800's is this true?

With regard to cooling what isrecommended for (2) overclocked 8800's and an overclocked QX6700? Is all that overclocking even recommened?

PC Uses: Gaming, Web Development (Photoshop CS2), Programming. Schoolwork.

Thanks for the assistance.

Hello Whooops,

Welcome to our forum. I'll answere your questions in the order you asked.

1. One single 8800GTX will smoke two 7950's in SLI. Plus 8800GTX is a DX10 card, 7950's are not.

2. Yes, you'll need to go with a 1KW power supply if you plan on going with two 8800GTX's in SLI.

3. Overclocked QX6700 is the way to go.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Thank You
Wallace

What about cooling this? Obviously liquid is the best, but is it required?

There's no need to watercool the QX6700, I do recommend you go with the Zalman cpu cooler though.
