View Full Version : Anyone playing Mass Effect on PC?
I'm just wondering if it's as great as they say and if I should drop $50 on it?

hmmm, couple of disclaimers: 1)I've only played on 360. 2)I'm a Bioware fanboi.
If you are asking whether to drop $50 on top of the $50 you already spent on the 360 version I can't help you, but if this is a first-time look at Mass Effect I would definitely go for it. It certainly has flaws and becomes repetitive if you grind the secondary quests, but it remains one of the best games of the last year IMHO, easily worth the dollar an hour you will pay for your first comprehensive runthrough...

Thanks for your input. I went out and bought it today and am liking it so far. The graphics are great, especially the facial animations. In fact, the graphics are so good, I have to keep reminding myself that it's not a shooter. I keep wanting to play it as a shooter, when it's an RPG. BTW, this is my first taste of it; I'm not a 360 gamer, strictly PC.

not to bad of a game. i just bought it a few weeks ago. ive beaten it already , which leads me to this.
im very much starting to get tired of the 1 player games. you beat it then thats it. why would i want to play mass effect again after that. its just like my ps3 games i traded in to gamestop. ratchet and clank, uncharted, devil may cry 4,
..im even thinking of trading in gta 4 now. granted it has online its just not my cup of tea so to speak. i actually liked san andreas more. you could do a lot more in that game.
right now im having a lot of fun playing metal gear solid 4 online.
To each his own. I'm just the opposite; I'm tired of MMOs. After a while, it just gets repetitious. I'm not the kind of gamer that likes to play a game more than once, either. I think that's why I get tired of MMOs; it's like playing the same game over and over. Personally, I'm having a lot of fun with Mass Effect, on the PC. The battles are a lot of fun. I'm waiting for Mythos to come out. It's F2P, so I can treat it like a casual game and only play whenever I feel like it, but its still has a lot of the features of the subscription games (at least it sounds that way).

im more a fan of fighting games and shooters. call of duty 4, and fight night round 3 are two of my favorite games. i just tried the ps3 demo of battlefield bad company though and im impressed. i like it a lot...going to be hard to play call of duty 4 now and not be able to blow stuff up.
