This is a tutorial on how to download and setup the Ventrilo Client, so that YOU can join the Maingear eSports professional team and community on their Ventrilo server.
First off, we need to download the client. Most of you guys have XP or Vista. First you need to go to www.Ventrilo.com and click DOWNLOAD.

From here, this will take you do the download page. If you are using 32 bit of XP or Vista, you need to click the first one. Otherwise, choose the one that fits your system needs. Now you need to install it.

Now that you have it downloaded and installed it, it’s time to set it up!
Now click on the ICON on your desktop and click the first Arrow; that arrow is highlighted below.

From here, you can add a name that you would like to use. Click the New button and enter it. I suggest you use your online “nickname”. For most of you this would be your gamertag.
Now it’s time to setup the servers. I am going to show you how to add the MAINGEAR server.
You now need to click the second arrow button. This will take you to a new setup menu. Click new and name it Maingear, or whatever you wish to name it. You will then need to add the server IP and Port. This is the most important step because we want you to be in our Ventrilo :). The server information is as follows:
IP: NewYork.NationVoice.com
Port: 4108
Password: THERE IS NO PASSWORD! LEAVE THIS FIELD BLANK!

Once you have connected, you should see many channels. The top half of the Ventrilo is all of the gaming teams’ channels. Below the halfway mark, there are a bunch of community channels. Get your friends in here and play all you want! We want you to be able to be in the same area as our gamers. Watch for gamers to hop in the channel if you are playing a certain game and ask to join you! A screenshot of the vent is below.

Thanks! Hope to see more of you guys on Ventrilo! Please stay in the community channels!
