Have I mentioned today how much I hate you?

Seriously though congrats!. While the cool-it system is ok I have to say that the interior of the case looks great, I just wish they had done something to the outside of the case to match the spider, maybe airbrush a web across it or something, because the outside is a bit plain for that sweet interior.

That looks great!

Question, which may be very dumb, but what the hell, I'm a dummy:

Not talking about performance in any way, but if all else is equal build-wise, should a liquid-cooled machine run more quietly than an air-cooled computer?

My own Windows machine seemed to run with less fan noise after the liquid-cooling was installed, but the system really wasn't as quiet overall as I initially thought. Weird gurgling noises and sounds from the pump replaced the fan noise; I mistook the difference for less noise at first. I know how ignorant that sounds, but that's what I experienced and it took a little time to recognize. Is this normal?

The significance for me personally, is that I don't really need the greater performance available with a cooler system - I just want a nifty, quiet new desktop. That, and I really like the looks of that system and especially in red!

I love the airbrushing on that machine. Its just looks killer and with the watercolling wires running throught it. Just great detail all in all. :notworthy: :yourockt:

There is a common misconception when it comes to liquid-cooled machines. They don't always provide quieter configurations but better performing ones. In our case to be honest, the liquid-cooled systems we use from CoolIT Systems is based on TEC technology and are definitely louder then fans, but you do get a better performing pc. Now don't get me wrong, it is not like an air conditioner. It has a slight hum that with any background noise such as music, TV, games, you would not even hear it. Now, not all liquid-cooled machines are louder then fans. Some are made for that exact reason to be quieter.

I know how ignorant that sounds, but that's what I experienced and it took a little time to recognize. Is this normal? I really can not answer this for you because one, I dont know what type of system you have or what liquid-cooled machine you used. Also, it really depend on how you set it up with a few other factors.

That, and I really like the looks of that system and especially in red! It this is the case I would definitely opt for the Zalman cooler in your config. Our staff works wonders with it and the machine is very quiet. Also, it performs very well and can almost match our liquid-cooled machines.

Thank you for that response, Plan1x. Your honesty about the noise level of the liquid-cooling is appreciated. Straight-up answers are too rare, it seems, these days.
