I'm planning to order a new rig later this month and I would like to have it shipped with Vista installed. However, I have heard about driver/performance issues with Vista.

What is Maingear doing in terms of performance testing on Vista, and when?

Do you recommend sticking with XP until later this year so the bugs can be worked out?

I want to be confident that my machine will perform as expected with Vista installed.

I know someone at maingear will get back to you on this subject. But I heard that you can buy the upgrade for vista when you get your copy of xp with your rig. When you feel ready to upgrade you can I would say wait for a while let them get all the bugs out. :D

Hello Badger,

Thank you for your interest in our machines. Unfortunately, a final shipping copy of Vista hasn't been made available to us as of yet. Therefore, we haven't begun any real testing with our systems. We will only begin checking for incompatibility and performance once it's been released to us. As with any other new OS, there's always bugs to be ironed out. How long it's going to take to fix these issues is uncertain, but I recommend you call in the future to ask these questions as you will receive answers faster and in better detail from our tech staff. I'd say check back in later this month. Thanks in advance.
