Can anyone tell me which card performs better? I'm running Sli 8800 ultras and I want to upgrade. My son will get the 8800's. Which card is the better of the two? I'm using a 28" viewsonic 1920x1200 resolution in my games. Also what about a recertified card? Worth the gamble? I only use Evga cards.

Wich 88 Series cards do u have? ( GTX , GTS , GT , Ultra ) and how many watts is your power supply able to handle and how many amps are on the 12v rails? o.O

And as far as performance ... the 98 GX2 beats the GTX in a few games and same with the GTX beating the GX2 in others.... so it really just depends on what your looking to be able to play.
Personally i would go for a SLI Setup of the 98 GTX because u have double the bandwith of the GX2 ( Tech. speaking you have 2 PCI-E 2.0 slots for 2 cards , or you have 1 PCI-E 2.0 slot and try to cram double the data in it , which is gonna work better? )
and also the fact that the 9800GTX is cheaper and EVGA makes some alright cards :\ ( i personally like XFX ) but thats just me.

GTX 260 can be gotten for under $200 in some places, like www.tigerdirect.com and www.newegg.com (after MRI though..)

The standard 9800GTX (not the +) are pretty much the 8800GTX (which are slightly lower clocked 8800 Ultras).
