Since both of them are denoted as "quiet" i was wonder how much more worth it the Zalman CNSP8000 cooler was over the regular Intel one? I want to make sure either one is quiet, but i'm not exactly sure how to differentiate the two since there werent even any noise specs or anything listed.

-made multiple topics for seperate questions, sorry.

Here is a great review which will help put it in perspective:

that's actually the CNPS and not the CNSP (the difference is it's for the AMD CPU), that may possibly affect the review because of the different cooling requirments an AMD has.

but either or, i've seen plenty of good reviews for it, but i'm still not sure "i" want it, and so unless it's a bad review or it has something to compare it to the intel "quiet" cooler i'm still not sure.

spin..

I believe the Zalman does a better job of cooling, as well. Not sure of the exact db's on either, but even just looking at the 2 coolers, it's obvious that the Zalman is more efficient!

Yea, i don't know the difference between the two myself, but i opted originally for a stock cpu cooler, and later switched to a zalman. The zalman has cooled my system a few more degrees and also keeps a bit more quit then the stock cpu I used.

well honesstly, since i know you can do easy tweak overclocking even on stock cooling with these systems, i'm less concerned with efficient cooling and more if it truly is any more quiet (since both say quiet). Actually i prefer a cheaper simpler cooler if the stock one is just as quiet since i find pricier coolers just to be more work when i worked with them in the past.

Is the zalman cnps8000 better than the arctic cooling freezer pro7? From the reviews I've read, arctic cooling is better than the cnps8000 and they are cheaper. Why does maingear prefer to use the zalman for their prelude rather than the cheaper and better (from the reviews) arctic cooling freezer pro7? Is it something to do with the size?

That is exactly the problem. The artic cooler does not have enough clearance betweek the cpu and power supply to fit and therefore, we can not use it.

great question lol26 i was going to ask the exact same one, and followed by that is a great answer by plan1x.

so much for me asking for that on the xcube...=(

Them SFF fans be hard to come by...well, good ones :) I have always been impressed with Zalman engineering and aesthetics!
