I currently spend a lot of time playing EQ2 and I'm curious what those who are playing Vanguard think of it so far? I doubt I'll try it...just curious what people think. I'm probably going to hold out for Warhammer Online...

I saw a bunch of SS of the game, and it just did not appeal to me. After playing WoW for two years (I finally quit), the next game is going to have to be graphically far superior to WoW for me to even start to look at it.

~Also, I do not like being early into an MMO anymore, after WoW I will usually wait a good 1-3 months AFTER full retail before getting into it. Since that will give enough time for the major bugs to work them out, maybe it will Warhammer. Seen some "videos," but not game play yet so will have to wait.

I'm playing Vanguard now and so far I like it. It has problems but its stable so far with not to many bugs. Counters and chain attacks are nice too.

I have played EQ2 off and on since the day it opened in Nov 04. Before that, I played EQ1 off and on since Jun 1999. EQ2 looks amazing on this Velocity Micro with just a 20" Samsung 204B (1600x1200). Played a host of others too (WoW, Heroes, etc) - but none with the keeping power like the EQs.

Please tell me more about Vanguard. My wife and I are EQ2 freaks, but we occasionally get bored and a new MMO intrigues us.

I have been playing eq1 since jan 02. tried lots of different ones as well, but your right, eq has something the other don't; an intangible that keep sme going back.

However, after beta testing the newest eq1 expansion, I finally said enough.

Playing Wow again atm, having fun with that, more fun this time around.

I got a 10 trial to Vanguard, but haven't DL it. I also got invited to beta Lord Of the Rings online. DL'd it, but haven't installed. LOL It does look great on the screenies.

They are accepting beta testers I believe too. It supposed to be stricter adherence to Tolkien lore.

I finally caved and bought Vanguard the weekend before last; it is interesting but I don't think it is enough different for me to "start over" again at this point. I played EQ1 from the day it was released until the day EQ2 released at which point I switched. I'm still enjoying EQ2 enough that I think it will be my main game until Warhammer Online comes out which I'm hopeful for...how ever, EQ seems to be the world that always draws me back so who knows :)

Sue and I reside on Guk server in EQ2. Mains are Suse and Yellowbeard, though we are heavy into alts Petyl for Sue and Fafa and Aetheist for me.

Thanks for "game testing" Vanguard for us and saving us $50!

Well dang, I'm on Permafrost...would have been cool to hookup with some other Maingear customers. Yeah...I wouldn't say Vanguard is bad, its actually kind of refreshing in a few ways...but it still beta material for the most part. I imagine it will be a really fun game in a year or so...once all the kinks are worked out.
