Just ordered new Prelude system today.
750W powersupply
680I Motherboard
Intel E6700
Zalman CNS800 fan
2gb DDR2 5300 667
250gb Hard Drive
DVD 16x
Nividia 8800GTS
Onboard Audio
Vista Premium
Main reason for going with MaingGear was the reviews and amazingly strong feedback regarding customer service and build quality. In addition managements response in these forums to issues was the icing on the cake. So far so good... Looking forward to having a new toy in a few weeks)

Looks like a nice system.
Welcome to the boards also.
What are you going to do with your computer? Assuming gaming?
Make sure you don't bother RottynDawg before he has had his coffee, he can be a bit cranky. :coffee:
Hope to see some pics when you get it.

Uh oh, I'm getting a reputation here already...luckily, I've had a quad and a few cups of normal coffee already :)
Welcome to the boards Scott...that looks like a nice system indeed! Which color did you end up going with?

Thanks for the warm welcome)

I am thinking about picking up Vanguard:Saga of Heroes I used to play EQ1 back in the day. But concerned about performance with Vista and a new buggy MMORPG.
Anyone here tried Vanguard w/ vista?
Just dont tell my new wife of my plans)

My system specs are very close to yours though I only have the E6300 and I'm running XP; Vanguard runs amazingly well on it so you can always dual boot if necessary. I would expect it runs equally well on Vista, especially with the new drivers that were just released.

Most games are "running" fine, it is the little things that I have seen from people have problems with.
Such as:
~Sound in game
~Mouse (very rare) glitch
It is mostly the drivers from others that are slowly working to update, but overall the game will run.

Well I'm not sure about anyone else but I've gotten sort of used to having sound in my games! :bat:

Actually to counter that, the last time I really had sound on in games was when I played CS in leagues, and that was just for matches. I prefer my music over in-game sounds, etc., but if your sound is not even work you won't have either.

Im running Vista 64 with Vanguard. Game runs fine but I'm having some problems with the 8800Gtx drivers taking a poop after 2.5 days of uptime in vista. Solution Cold restart and Im good for another 2.5 days.

I notice many signatures here have also signed in (with the same sigs) and recorded their experiences at ResellerRatings.com
Scott, I'd suggest you do that after you've received the system and had it for about a month (and anyone else out there who's a MG or other computer manufacturer customer - post your experience). Before I order from any store online, I go there to see how they have rated. I am guilty for having ordered from Newegg and a few others and never posting my experiences, but I'll make sure I do it for Maingear - like I did for VM.
Forgot to ask - anyone got a good suggestion for speakers and where to buy them online? I have my sights on M-Audio LX4s, but don't really know anyone who owns a pair - the Creative SBS 380s I got with this Velocity Micro suck compared to the old Harmon Kardons i got with my dead Dell in 2002.

Yesterday I received my new Prelude... YAY. Ordered 2/14/07
Loving the new Vista System.
Only downside is the monitor I bought from another vendor has a row of pixels out and will have to be returned... should of gone with MG I guess.
Other observations: MG sent me two sets of speakers by mistake, I called and they are picking up the extra set. G15 keyboard, the CPU monitor readout does not read correctly, but this is G15 Driver issue w/ vista. Dark Messiah that came with computer does not run. Crashes to Desktop with an error of mm.exe file upon bootup. I consider all of these issues to be extremely minor.
Packing was excellent, system is put together amazingly well no complaints, setup was easy. I give MG high marks

I will call on mine if I don't hear anything by Friday. Ordered an F131 on 17 Feb. Saturday is the 3 week point for me. Did you get a call or e-mail beforehand?

I would just call anyway to be on the safe side. This past week we got a huge batch of faulty memory and it has put us behind a few days.

I did get an E-mail with a tracking number 3-4 days before delivery

Corsair sent MG faulty memory? Wow...I have never heard of that before. I'll call tomorrow if I don't hear anything.

Unfortunately it is true. Im not sure if we get direct shipment from Corsair itself or through a distributor but for what I heard the entire batch that we got was completely faulty. What is worse about it is you never know until you try each and everyone.

I called today during my lunch and this is why mine didn't ship, so I agreed to downgrade to the pc5300 ram so it would ship today (I hope!)
Hrm now that I think about it, I wonder what the price difference between the 5300 and the 6400 were, I could have probably squeeked in an upgrade somewhere if the price difference was enough instead of just getting a refund.

Well I didn't hear anything today, so I too, called on my lunch. Talked with Peter who said it was "on the bench" and would ship today or tomorrow. I told him not to let them hurry it "off the bench" until things were groovy. I guess they didn't have any problem with the 8500 DDR2 1066 stuff.
I assume they'll send me the tracking numbers when it ships.
Got my UPS and Razer mouse today from Newegg, so am just waiting on the MG. The Dell 24" Widescreen, M-Audio LX4s, Razer Tarantula, need something to play with them.

Nice, I just ordered a 22 inch widescreen today myself. I never got any emails regarding shipping yesterday or today so I'm assuming my machine hasn't shipped. :(
edit: looks like its boxed up and just waiting on the delivery guy to pick it up, yay!
