What are normal idle temps for a core duo x6800 and a nvidia 8800 gtx?
With my new maingear, I am concerned about the placement of the power supply right above the processor fan on the prelude.

well grimm..
all the various tools avail seem to report slightly diff #'s
but..
my O/C 6700 @3.3 is at 41c now as I write this, which is fine. my GPU is 61c
the chipset is high, but has always shown as such..not sure if the tools are accurate here.. LOL... GAWD..I hope not... 191c!
Thats one of the reasons I wanted to try Ntune.. hoping it would be more accurate

nTune has been accurate for my temps so far; I launch the tool called nMonitor and it seems fine.
I'm only running an E6300 so my temp readings won't help you rich folk :P

My idle CPU is 38 and GPU is 47. This is a 6600 overclocked to 3.0ghz

Interesting bit of information I discovered regarding my temps. I have a VelocityMicro machine and the front fan is covered by a door and the air flows through the Velocity Logo (cutout in door)
When the door is closed the idle temp for my CPU is 38, when the door is open that drops down to 33. Just goes to show how important case airflow is.
So for any CPU heavy applications etc... I leave the door open.
