SPDIF Out

Hello,

I'm enjoying my new Prelude and noticed an output on the machine that I am unfamiliar with.

There is a single RCA looking output labled SPDIF out.

A quick google tells me this is a digital audio output. Can I use this ouput to feed audio to a home surround sound receiver? I imagine this would be of a higher quality than using an earphone jack > dual RCA connection.

Yes, it is an audio out that I have succesfully connected to my home theatre system.
