Hey guys, been about two weeks I think since I've received my laptop. Haven't had much chance of playing around on it. I know a few of you have been waiting on a review, so I will review what I can so far about the laptop. I went all out on the laptop so it has the 1.73 quad core hard drive, c300 SSD, ect. The laptop is pretty fast, and virtually quiet during start up and most of the operation of the laptop. The screen is gorgeous, great display with no dead pixels on mine. Coming from a macbook pro the laptop is quite a bit bulkier, but still not bad at all. So on the the review:

Performance:
Great! Perfect as I expected it to be. I havent played any games or installed much. but the computer came with no bloatware, boots up and shuts down very fast.

Hardware:
The laptop seems pretty sturdy. My only grip is the keyboard. Typing is great, easy, good feedback and what not, but the keyboard is quite loud, and to me it has a hollow feel. I dont know how to explain it really, it just doesn't feel as solid as my macbook pro. With that being said, that is just a personal opinion of mine. The screen is great, vivid, easy to read.

Battery Life:
I haven't had a chance to test it yet really, and It would be unfair to compare it to the battery life of my mac, so more on this later

Conclusion:
The laptop is great. Is it perfect? Well there are a few things I'd change to it, but I believe it is harder to customize a laptop versus a desktop. So, I think Maingear did the best job they could with the platform, and their reputation is why I bought the laptop. I will be pleased to know that my laptop is backed by a good company with good people. I will be using the computer for work, and some photoshop and such, so for me It will work pretty well. Personally I think having a power source near by would be good, depending on usage of course because the battery does go by at a decent rate just typing the review and what not.

Anyways I will add more to this later, time for rest! Haven't slept in 25 hours!

Thanks for the review!

How was the computer shipped? Do you still get the nice booklet of CDs and all that? I assume if there were any problems with packaging, you would have mentioned them.

There has been much speculation on the weight, is it manageable?

Weight is not a problem at all. It's about 5.5. Pretty light imo. Yes it does come with a few cd's and the checklist of what has been tested on the laptop. Packaging was great, top notch.

Update on battery:
Browsing web and email with brightness 100 percent and on performance mode via battery settings net me about 1:05.
