Well my Shift arrived a few weeks ago, and although I was excited that it had finally arrived I was extremely shocked & appalled & disappointed after I noticed that one side of the box had a humongous gash in it..

Shame on you careless UPS guys.. I am disappoint..!!! XD :@ XD

I read somewhere on the WEB that:
"All packages shipped by UPS are potentially subjected to a 6-foot drop"
Holy Sh!t...!!! Never gunna use UPS ever again, NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN...!!!!

I wonder WTF happened to cause that big gash anyway..??

I'm not sure if I was suppose to refuse the shipment or not, or tear off my virtual poncho, take out my twin Laser Gatling Guns and blast the UPS guy away in slow motion FUUUUUUUUUU RAGE for his carelessness, because I just read this on some ebay page..

Item Damaged in Transit: If you receive a shipping carton that shows obvious damage, please refuse the shipment. The shipping carrier is responsible for these damages, not you. If, upon opening the carton, you discover that the product was damaged during shipment, contact the carrier for inspection. If your order was shipped via UPS and arrives damaged, save the original packing materials and call UPS (1 800 PICK UPS) to report the damage..

Although the PC itself doesn't appear to be damaged I'm still concerned for the well being of my Shift..!!!
He "JUST WENT THROUGH THE MOST TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE OF HIS LIFE"..!!!

The PC seems to work OK though, it boots up into windows with no problems or crashes...yet, but I've only used it for few hours total since I received it. I've been waiting + saving $$ for a lil while to get a proper UPS and a new HDD or SDD to use as the main OS DRIVE, so I haven't really installed anything or done much with the PC yet. I want to reinstall Win7 on a Better Faster HDD or SSD than the one I ordered with it.. Plus I need a proper UPS which is VITAL & ESSENTIAL to my SHIFTS usage & data protection becuz I tend to get lots of power outs in my house quite often for some reason. Plus I gotsta migrate all my data off my laptop on to my shift, so it might be a lil while B4 I get my shift setup properly to the state that I want it running at.
Shelling out 4G's for this badboy took a big chunk outa my savings.. I wished you guys would have shipped it in a nuclear bomb proof container..!!!

But anyway ehh yeah, do I need to report anything to the UPS, FBI, CIA, NSA, DoD, HLS, Army, Navy, NASA or The BeardMaster or someone or what, that Box Wound makes me "RAGE" every time I see it...!!!

Ouch!! Probably best to call UPS and report the damage and then call Chris as I'm sure he has a lot of experience with this sort of thing. Make sure everything works as it should, don't forget DVD or blu-ray players, card readers, etc. If all is well then relax, have a stiff drink if you like, and try to enjoy the fabulous new Shift you now have! Good Luck!

Yikes! Lucky that the side of your shift inside was not damaged. It must have not penetrated enough to reach it inside. Those boxes are pretty tough too, it must have taken a lot to dent it like that.

UPS are a bunch of idiots. Really. They deliver my packages to the wrong house, on a regular basis. Then they give you the runaround when you try to get them to track it down. It becomes a nightmare. I really hate UPS. But so many businesses use them, often we don't have a choice.

I can imagine your dilemma...you waited so long for that PC to arrive, you really don't want to refuse the shipment - because you know that woud be a major delay. What angst! One of my reasons to choose maingear is I live locally and I was able to pick up my PC myself. No butterfingers UPS ever touched it. THAT was a big load off my mind!

Well, you can rest assured, if there is any problem with your shift at any point, MG will take care of it for you. If it seems to be running okay now, and has no physical damage, I would not worry too much. It sounds like it dodged the bullet.

I asked my computer to come by UPS because my Fed Ex driver is numb! Fed Ex here has delivered a laptop to my neighbor, a coat three doors away and a package marked FRAIGLE, he tossed over the fence and left in the snow! The Post Office and UPS have no problems.
