Educated consumers make great customers ...and MAINGEAR has the greatest customers ...but better yet, they are more than great customers, they are great "relationships" ...and there is a difference!
Soon, MAINGEAR plans on launching the first of our series of newsletters to provide you with more info about what's going on with MG, but also some new technologies we see as viable, interesting or completely insane ...along with some other things.
With that said, I'm posting this on the forum to get your feedback as to what you think you'd like to have us publish.
...your thoughts?
PS: any MGHeads out there with a flair for writing that might have something interesting to be included (gaming, business, other)?
btw: please drop me a private email with your email address to ensure you get a copy of our newsletter; it's probably not best to post your email address here as there are scoundrels that will scrape them for serving you some nice SPAM.
MAINGEAR ...beyond possibilities!

How about a noise level chart comparing the different models under similar conditions. Something along the line of how Chris compared two systems with an SPL meter set at a typical desk distance from the pc. To make it useful, include the ambient noise level as a baseline and perhaps a few "known" sounds such as footsteps, whispers and conversational voice. You could even throw in a cricket or a bee... :p
I'd like to see some reviews of the sound cards and how they compare to onboard sound and each other. It would help people decide if it's worth it to them to add one to their purchase. Of course, you could try and get permission to quote someone else, but only if you agree with their assessment. After spending years in the audio business, I've found that there are even experienced reviewers who tend to let product bias get in the way of a truthful review.

I'm willing to beta test any new systems you are developing, hell I'd even write up the occasional brief story on how things are going with it.
I'm ready to start, all I need is the system. :D
Seriously, I would suggest two complimentary sections, one that looks at the employees of Maingear, and the other that looks at the departs within the company.
Also I would love to see rundowns on currently systems and what they are capable of, not exactly HardOCP type reviews but something that could help people who are undecided between the different rigs.
Maybe just as a teaser the closer of each "issue" could be a peek inside Maingear R&D.

Hi Ed,
Widdlecat and DarkStar have some great suggestions. You might try to talk Widdlecat into contributing, she's really an excellent writer. To give us some insight into the employees each issue could feature a personal profile of an employee. Maybe have them respond to questions re: hometown, job, sports, children, pets, favorite movies, music, TV shows, PC games, and fun subjects such as funniest memory, dumbest thing you ever did, what really ticks you off, what guilty pleasures do you have, any celebrity encounters, etc. DarkStar also mentioned a section covering the different departments and I was wondering if you could include some photos of the facilities, without giving away any trade secrets of course! You might also have an app of the month or tip of the month.
Good luck!

RickyRicardo's suggestion of a tip of the month is great, it could even be taken a step further and split into different areas, for example Window's tip of the month and System Care (hardware) tip of the month.

Great suggestions ...keep them coming; already in touch with "Widdlecat". - Ed
Tips are nice. Seeing Maingear's office would be cool, where you put systems together. I'm also curious about how you burn in new systems, and how you benchmark to see how you decide which options to offer with each system. How do you decide what you'll offer to people, and when you adjust product lines or options? Even though I'm in I.T. that's a whole different world.
