Received my cube..no sound

hi all, well i received my xcube, and so far its great, except i cant hear the sound. i have optical out to my receiver. my home theater is working so its not the receiver...i have the inputs set up correctly. I have tried system volume ect no go. i am assuming one of the inputs on the front of the cube is for headphones?...no sound.
any ideas?

Sorry to hear that. Might be a Vista driver issue is you run a Vista OS.
My sound system (Bose) happens to work fine on by new MG F131 running Vista , and on my old PC running XP, but I couldn't get it to work on another laptop running Vista. Sometimes, turning off the system while the sound system is plugged-in, and letting the OS detect it works...

not running vista..thanks though. what are my options, other than the digital out in the back for hooking to the receiver?......sound is working from front headphone jack.

ok front headphone jack works, IF, i take out the optical cable in the back.Going to buy a new optical cable to see if thats the problem.

Well it turns out the optical out on the cube doesnt work :( so i had to go out and buy a sound card, didnt want to ship it back for that.
