Ok, I've had this thing since April, and I've put almost 500 hours on it in Bad Company 2, used it for other games, and even for composing digital music... Through all that, it hasn't crashed once for anything that was actually the Shift's fault so to speak. The only crashes I've had are from ATI drivers past 10.5, because ATI doesn't seem to wanna work the bugs outta their drivers for 5970 owners. And even those crashes were while playing BC2 and I knew exactly what the problem was, so rolling back to 10.5 was a simple fix.
Long story short, after running the crap outta my Shift, it just sits there beside my desk seemingly smirking at me as if to say "you're gonna have to throw a lot more at me if you ever wanna make me break a sweat buddy"
Once again, thanks Maingear for this badass rig! And congrats on the PC Gamer review!

Dear fisty,
You must be kidding, do you really think a measly 500 hours of Bad Company 2 is going to stress me out? My liquid cooling won't shed a single tear over your pathetic attempts to overheat my i7-930. And I'm overclocked too! No way my 5970 will break a sweat in this case. And how about loading some more games onto my nearly empty 1.0TB WD Black hard drive? I'm ready to party 24/7 so let's rock!!
Your pal, Shift ;)

lol I see what u did there, and I like it :) I have a whole lot more games, but bfbc2 and l4d2 are my current obsessions... sc2 and civ5 are up there as well, but I don't play them as much. Also, I think the case design is good for dust as well, cuz I periodically open her up to spray her out, but there's hardly any dust or anything in there. Its kinda nice lol plus I like just looking at the masterpiece inside the case, so it's a win-win situation!

greetings. I can't tell you how refreshing your "mock disappointment" posting was. ;) ...would love to read similar postings from other "disappointed" MG customers in that their systems outperformed their expectations.

Well, my SHIFT has crashed once... actually IE9 beta locked up hard. I did a hard boot and win7 even had to do a recovery. Since that time, I've stopped using IE9 tho hehe. This rig is rock stable though. I've OC'd it to 3.8 GHz on passive air, but I prefer the guaranteed stability of MAINGEAR's OC. With the SHIFT case, heat hasn't been an issue for either my CPU or mobo.
