Placed my order today, man am I stoked! Want to thank everyone who helped me configure my build.
Black Brushed Aluminum
MAINGEAR 750W Ultra Quiet Power Supply
Asus P5N-E SLI nForce 650i SLI
E6600 Core 2 (2.4GHz)
Intel Quiet CPU Cooler
2GB Corsair DDR2 PC5300 DDR667
Western Digital Caviar SE 200GB SATA II
16X DVD-ROM - Black
NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB PCIe
Onboard 8-channel High Definition Audio
Dual Gigabit LAN
Logitech X-230 Speakers
Microsoft Windows Vista Home
I went with the less expensive cooling because it doesn't get very hot here, usually my apartment is very cool. I don't plan to do any overclocking, so it should be good enough.
Basic DVD-ROM, I can use my wife's comp to burn media.
If the on-board audio turns out to be lame for gaming, I'll just get a sound card for X-mas.
I ordered my monitor today from Tigerdirect: a Samsung 731B 17" LCD Monitor for $169. Same model MG has available.
Ordered my mouse from Amazon, a Logitech MX518 Gaming mouse - $31.99. I checked the Vista hardware compatability list...it's on there :)
So I'm almost set, just need a good gaming keyboard.
Can't wait to post some pics for you guys when it's all set up!
Congrats! That sounds pretty nice, I'm sure you'll love it.
If you want a suggestion for a gaming keyboard; I have a keyboard by Creative, the sound card people. It's the Fatal1ty illuminated keyboard and I love it. It's very thin and light, but the construction is very sturdy. The keys are all tight and feel firm when you hit them. I found it accidently at my local Circuit City; it wasn't advertised or anything and I was actually looking for another brand of gaming keyboard. And it was much less expensive than Logitech's illuminated keyboard, although I'm usually a Logitech fan. I think it was about $30, but I could be mistaken.
Again, congrats and welcome to the clan :D

Yes indeed. And once I have the power to perform the dreaded Ritual of Tracking, your rig will eat my rig's dust! Muahaha
All I need is a little more Mana, a full moon, and of course a UPS or Fedex uniform.

Also, I was wondering when I get my new computer, whats the best way to copy all of my data from my old one onto the new one? I don't want to lose stuff like my Itunes music and all my photos and downloads. My friend says I should just set up a LAN and drag the files over. Is this the best way or is there an easier way out there?

I'll probably end up just taking the HD out of this comp and putting it in my new rig. Use it in case I need XP for something.

arrrrrrgggghhhh!
lol.
LAN is good, can be a bit of a pita to get the shares up, etc, putting the old HDD in the new one works nicely too, or, also getting a cheap external USB enclosure. even USB flash drives.
BUT..DONT TRY IT WITH FLOPPIES! lol
and the altar chick ( ella in drag ) was way hawt! /drools

Hey SpoHunter, does the order status tab on the main page work for you? It doesn't work for me.
If you have ordered within the last week or so you may have a link that was a glitch in the system. With the launch of our new website we also changed the product cart server along with it. We thought we had it complete when we did the switch but a few glitches were unseen. Everything is taken care of now, so I would advise if you have a problem with any of those tabs or links, to call in or email support@maingear.com in order for us to resend the right links and or help solve the problem.

Good to hear that. Hope you can give more feedbacks about your purchase. Coz i might buy one too though I still havent made a final decision. Im still researching, checking configs/price, reading reviews of different builders. Right now Ive narrowed it down to maingear/avadirect/vm.

Ok, time for a few pics!
First a pic of the condition of the box it arrived in. It held up very well during shipping.

Now a pic of the computer and the miscellaneous stuff that came with it.
http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6705/1000322we8.th.jpg (http://img391.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1000322we8.jpg)
Ok now for a little feedback. This is by far the best computer purchasing experience I've ever had, and I've owned 5 other computers. Maingear is a great company.
The quality of the assembly is top-notch. It's quiet, sturdy, sleek, and I can't find any flaw whatsoever. And I've been pretty hard on it the past few days as I configured it and tested it. It plays games easily and FAST.
Also Vista rocks, its head and shoulders above XP.
I do have 2 minor complaints, which I will mention just to be balanced. Number one, the computer took a lot longer to get here than I thought it would. There are people who post on this forum who got their computer before me or at the same time as me who ordered AFTER I did. I think my computer should have been here about a week earlier than it was. Ugh, the wait was hard. But it's over, so all's well that ends well.
Second, the speakers weren't included. I contacted Maingear about it, and they assured me they were on the way. They were out of stock. But they haven't arrived yet. I'm using my old speakers at the moment and they work fine, so it's not really a big deal for now.
Anyway, I will be strongly recommending Maingear whenever I get the chance. Very happy customer here.
Thanks MG!
And now up pic of the completed set-up.
