I was thinking about buying a Prelude but before that I wanted to know how many USB ports and other typically ports are included/built in. I guess I haven't looked around that hard but I couldn't find anything. Would anyone happen to know how many USB ports, peripheral jacks, etc. comes on the Prelude?

Goodmorning Golfman, Welcome to the boards.
There are two USB port on the top of the machine near the drivebays, along with a firewire, headset and mic connections. In the back of the machine there are four USB ports and an additional firewire along with the usual setup of sound controls mouse, keyboard, ect....
If there is a need for more, we can always plug in an additional 3 or 4 I believe using one of the open expansion slots in the back.

i'm assuming it doesnt matter what motherboard is selected and that those top ports, incouding the firewire, all get powered regardless?
