Since I have gone through the full experience I thought I should share.
The Order: The advice that I received from Rapheal (?) was top notch, no hard sell, no needless upgrades that did not add value. I had a relatively clear idea of what I wanted and we just worked to tweak it a bit. The price I had worked out prior was the almost exact amount I ended up spending.

The Build: Here is where they lost a few points. My order was about 2 weeks delayed, that turned out to be not a huge deal as my work kept me busy, truthfully it probably was beneficial. Where the confusion started was the email notification system, it seemed like I only received every other notification (but not the available for pickup one). Was I contact them Maingear was responsive and let me know that it was available for pick up. My advice, less notifications more accuracy. I did not need to know every step in the process, just when you start and when you finish (and of course if there are any issues along the way).

The System: After picking up the system, I un-boxed at home. Everything was meticulously packed and the system and information was laid out in a logical manner. The system is solidly build and neat and clean on the inside. I was a bit disappointed the freebie game was no where to be found. :(

The Performance: I have only been able to muck around with it a bit, but holy cow. I had been worried about the system noise (being close to my little daughters room), but I can hardly tell when it is on. The OS on SSD is incredible with startup's of less than a minute. And the performance in game has been incredible.

So far, overlooking a few hick ups it has been a great experience. If you are sitting on the fence, as I was for a while, I would say give it whirl. Every person that I have dealt with at Maingear has been top notch, from the order to the pick up. That is I would say the challenge, can they maintain this (from what I have experienced) high level of customer care. It was the reason why I became interested in them in the first place. The real test will be when the first issue occurs, which the laws of probability say it will happen, can they continue their level of customer care.

Torgo, thanks for your feedback! We appreciate your comments and we are always looking for ways to improve our service.

Our free games are typically e-mailed out when the systems are shipped as they are not physical coupons, but keys we get electronically. Typically these are emailed out a day or two after it ships, but since you picked yours up I'd check with Glen as to the status if you haven't received the code net.

Since we launched the SHIFT, we've experienced tremendous growth. Only twice has it really caught up with us - right when we moved into our new facility, and roughly over the past month to 6 weeks.

In response, we've re-tooled our production process and increased output 100% while increasing staff about 33%. We think we've got things about stabilized, and Danny tells me that we should be back on track with 100% on-time delivery and even ready to lower our lead times within the next week. In fact, many customers, as have posted on this forum, are beginning to get their systems a few days earlier than anticipated as we we get caught up.

We do apologize for anyone that has been inconvenienced by this growing process, but it is paramount that we keep quality #1 and we won't cut corners to get anyone's system out faster than it takes to do the award-winning builds we're known for.

We do appreciate everyone's business and patience!

Chris, sorry for the delayed response been out of town. I was not at all trying to criticize wait times, frankly I would wait longer for higher build quality. I was only suggesting that the email system could be streamlined (IMHO). That's all, and frankly I have gone through some horrible experiences with other vendors, so time for quality is a trade off that I would GLADLY make.

So far though no word on the freebie game, what is the best way to contact Glen directly?

Other than that, everyone has been blown away by the system. It is built solid, but is whisper quiet even when she is running full throttle. And the few games that I have right now that push it look gorgeous and run with high framerates.

Any recommendations for software to monitor internal temperature? I thought that nvidia suite had something but I haven't found it. I just want to make sure that my environmentals are ok. I have no reason for concern now, but I could rearrange my office if she wasn't cooling down enough.

Howdy, we are definitely making better strides on email notification, more accurate lead times, etc. Good news is that lead times are down to 2 weeks across the board and Danny tells me some may drop further by the end of the week.

As to temperature monitor software, I recommend HWMonitor or AIDA64.
