i'm looking for a good gaming laptop that's not going to break me. i don't want to spend anymore than 2500 max. i've been looking around for quite some time, and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

Mr. Pimpdizzle, I bet if you called maingear and spoke to one of the reps you would get a great deal. THey are so willing to help in whatever way possible to make you as happy as possible.

I went with a Tower from maingear, but I only wanted to spend a certain amount too. Although a bit higher. They helped me match the best configs possible and helped tie in some awsome extras all with in my price range.

I went with a few other pc makers and no one could help like the maingear staff. I am fully confident they could help you too. Plus I hear that they have one of the best gaming laptops on the market.

make the call it couldn't hurt.

Huh. Cool. I didn't know Maingear even made laptops.

I've wondered something though--where do these companies (like Maingear) get the chassis for their laptops? I mean, there's not a boutique on the planet that uses a totally custom-made case. Even Alienware is basically a plastic shell over a common case.

I see tons of Lian-Li v1100s, from everyone from Hypersonic to Voodoo. Falcon's used Cooler Master, and now they're using a Silverstone TJ03. They're all just basic cases anyone can get, usually with a few simple visual mods. But I've never heard of buying a standalone laptop chassis and putting it together like you would a desktop.

Our secrets stand tall I see. And our standards tower taller.

Our laptops kick butt.

Lol... indeed. I've always wondered about that though, and I'm not just saying that because I'm thinking about starting my own company (I don't think I'd want to do laptops, at least not for a while).

Ah well. Part of Maingear's contract with the devil, I think. Make insane PCs, get laptop hardware, rule the world, etc....
