After many months of research, more configs than I care to remember and several calls to Maingear, I finally ordered the following Quick Ship F131 model but opted for the "older style Vybe case which had always been my prefferred case due to the size and the rear fan intake. I ordered on Monday, November 21 and received it on Wednesday November 30. Even with Thanksgiving that week I still received it in 9 days. GREAT job guys.
My experience ordering over the phone with Maingear was great. After discussing my actual needs with them for a reliable system which would be used primarily for developing software training for our clients. they suggested that the 2500 processor and GTS 450 gpu would do everything I needed and more and would save me almost 200 dollars. Ordered placed!
When I meet Fedex at the door, I was really surprised at how big the box was. Upon unpacking, I found the system to be in perfect shape from the shipping, and all of the goodies that Maingear is known for. My binder with all my backup CD's, manuals for the system, huge mouse pad, t shirt, and even the nice little bag my Seasonic power supply came in with the extra cables VGA to DVI adaptor and assorted screws. WOW! Before I even plugged it in, I had to peek inside and was again very pleased, with how easy it is to take the side off but also how neat everything inside is. No dangling wires, plenty of free space for airflow and the 120 Epic cooler.
After connecting it to the new Cyberpower 1350UPS I purchased for it, it fired right up and what a fast system. It booted so fast I could not believe it. So much faster than my old Compag/HP. The desktop was clean without all the garbage software you usually get with one of the stock companies. Even though I went with Intel 320 SSD for reliability reasons instead of a faster SSD, it is still much faster than any system I have ever used. It took me a few days to get everything loaded and transferred, but what a pleasure this system is to use.
I could not be happier, and would highly recommend a Maingear system to anyone looking for a well built computer, even if you are not looking for cutting edge tech, or the fastest system money can buy
