COD4 SERVER???

Wallace expressed interest in a cod4 server. Hopefully we can get this off the ground soon??? How many people would be interested in this? My son played crysis and found it somewhat dissapointing especially the multiplayer game. I played crysis and I personally don't enjoy it as much as cod4. All in favor say IIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

I agree. crysis looks great but it just doesnt seem as fun for some reason. maybe its because of the bigger levels or something. all honesty i havent even tried the multiplayer on either one yet though. i did play call of duty 2 online all the time though and i enjoyed it quite a bit.

after playing both online, must give cod4 the nod over crysis. cod4 server would be good idea over the crysis server. only 1 persons opinion thou.

After CES Wallace hasn't been back. He has been on a few more business trips and I think will finally be back sometime next week.

Do you have a wireless xbox 360 controller? If so, get an Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows. Works well and you don't have to get used to a new controller. I think I paid about $20 at BB for mine. You just plug it in to a USB port and install the driver.

I have been playing the crap out of call of duty 4 online for the past week or so.

Its the first time I have even tried it online. I must say it reminds me of why I hadn't played a shooter online in so long.

It is quite fun but the annoyances are still there.
to name a few:

*You get an air strike after a 6 kill streak. you press the 6 key and a map will show up giving the ability to pick the designated spot. after you chosen the spot...watch out. a jet will fly over head and drop bombs leveling the playing field. i find this a real pain the in the ass. Ive been killed many times when i re spawn and when my teammate had called it in. yes...it even kills your teammates.

*choppers ?
when you get a 7 kill streak you can call in a chopper. this works in your favor. if you call it in a chopper will fly over head killing only members of the opposing team. i also find this a bit annoying. Considering you can play up wards of 50+ people at a time the air strikes and choppers get old real quick.

* spawn campers
their are plenty to be found in this game. at least 2-6 every time ive played.
if i have to tell you what it is then you shouldn't be playing online anyways. .

*snipe campers
what ?! people snipe in this game ?
its just as bad as all the other games.
it seems like almost every map there is at least one person who will sit in one little spot and do nothing but snipe. this can be quite fun but gets annoying when there are other players running and gunning around having a hay day and one person shoots you all the sudden. if you can kill by all means do it. just sucks when you and the others are having fun and one person is doing nothing but sniping. it is funny though, because they usually end up with only 2-3 kills...haha

my opinion;
all that combined into the multi player it gets to be pretty darn frustrating. i like to get a good game on as much as the next guy but its get pretty damn chaotic at times. i personally try and play with 5-6 people at a time over the 50 where as you just constantly die because there is just too much going on on screen. air strikes, choppers with chain guns. then you have the perks so there is also people who drop grenades when they die or they have launchers on their guns so they are constantly shooting grenades.

call them complaints, whines, gripes. however you want to look at it. i don't care but tell me I'm wrong.... go play online for a bit and tell me those things do not exist and have not once annoyed you.

I'm still going to play it, because it IS fun as ever. just annoying at times...just like ever other online shooter. they don't make them for the casual gamer anymore. to many hardcore players out there.

Hey JD. Just want to respond to your comments about cod4. The airstrike will kill you but not your teammates unless your playing on a server with friendly fire enabled. Most servers have FF disabled. Try to play on servers with no more than 16 people and you will see a big difference. Have you tried playing different game types? People will do less running and gunning when your playing search& destroy, headquarters, domination. Team deathmatch is my personal favorite and it only annoys me when I'm getting spawn camped or airstriked left and right. Another suggestion would be to try Hardcore servers for a more realistic gaming experience. All I play is hardcore because it's more realistic and you really have to be more careful when playing. I play with an older bunch of guys who are into the more strategic aspect of the game and they prefer to think more than run&gun. I do understand your frustrations thats why I play on a different type of server. I have to say I'm not tired of this game at all and I'm really enjoying it. I agree with Trashman that the server population and rules can make a big difference. If you're really frustrated, look for a different game type that forces a slower play (e.g. search and destroy), or a server with rules they enforce with bans. I've played on a couple where they enforce "tactical" rules in that you are only supposed to run and gun if you are actively under fire, limit choppers and airstrikes, etc. Those tend to be more like what it sounds like you'd prefer. I'm a fan of the game (though I will admit that repeated airstrikes on your spawn point will make anyone annoyed) and most of the game modes myself. I prefer the hardcore servers also.

But to get back onto topic... *holding breath for MG COD4 server*

thanks for the replies guys. that was just my thoughts on it after ive play about total of seperate 5 times for an hour or so.

I am rank 55 though, a couple times i was asked how did i get that high because I didnt know how to get the chopper. thats because i didnt ever pay attention, i just go.

any of you have a favorite server ? since there isnt a maingear one...wink* wink*

and again thinks for the tips i never pay attention to the game type. i just play. i do have a lot of fun though. just talking about it im thinking of playing.

ok trashman i found the server and i seen you playing. i tried to get in on the action but only 16 people allowed...the server was full. i try again later

*edit. i got on there with you for a second. i seen what you was saying then all the sudden it kicked me for 5 minutes. says i was using mobot. i did try it out last night because i was curious but i took it off.

then i went back into it after 5 minutes and it says mismatched something and it kicked me again.

at least i hope i deleted all the files. i am using a multiplayer no cd crack though. i did buy the game but i dont want to scratch up my disc so i use a no cd crack. im wondering if thats effecting it.

had a blast. after you left i got my guns and i kicked some butt.. level 55 there was about 8 of us playing and i had the most kills with 39 i believe it was. not bad. a lot of people left it was only 4 of us..got tired so i had to go. most the time i was trying out new guns. been trying to get my my created classes setup better. trying out the perks.

oh haha , here is some hilarious..i been wondering would i couldnt hold my breath when i sniper and the scope wasnt to great. i been putting the one they offer in the created class. someone told me and i took it off. never even thought about it..no wonder i cant see as good or far as everyone else haha.

have to get on there and play again. i just now stopped playing. i dont play those games as much as i used to. not as good any more either. either way i had fun playing..fun game. i still had those damn choppers and air strikes though lol !

Hardcore mode offers a more realistic gaming experience and the weapons are more deadly. That's the reason you really can't run&gun as much as you would in a regular mode type server. It was really fun bro thanks for stopping by. I will definitley come and visit the M.G. server when it's up &running let us know. I'm playing with a clan on a regular basis and we are joining TWL gaming league to compete against other clans. Hey if we get famous will M.G. sponsor our clan at competitions??? Imagine everywhere you look you see the name Maingear plastered all over the place and every other clan there sees it as well. Hint, Hint. :wink:
