I am ready to buy my next computer and have been researching the various vendors. I've built many computers in my time but I no longer care to do so. I purchased an Alienware the last go around but this time, I plan to purchase from Maingear. With that, I have a few questions.
When does Maingear plan to offer the Nvidia DX10 cards in the Prelude system and when does Maingear plan to offer Windows Vista or at the very least, the Vista Express upgrade path? Does Maingear offer the option to purchase water cooling for the Prelude and/or is it really necessary? I ask because my Alienware sounds like a jet plane taking off when I play games and I really want a quiet system this go around. Are there any pictures of the current Prelude case that I can view?
Thank you in advance for answering my questions. I look forward to purchasing from Maingear and love the community on these forums. Feel free to PM me if it would be easier to arrange a phone call to discuss these questions.

Hello RottynDawg,
Firstly we would like to thank you for your interest in our products.
We believe that Vista will be a great platform. We’re just not comfortable offering the “free” Vista upgrade to our customers like our competitors do. We believe that Vista should be installed fresh and not upgraded. There are certain drivers that are just not ready yet. I can’t give you an exact date, but Vista should (could be delayed again) be available to OEM’s within the next month or so. We should have some Chirstmas specials, ie: free shipping.
If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to email or call.
Regards
Sales

Thank you very much for getting back to me. I will follow-up with a phone call tomorrow to ask a few more questions before deciding how long I'm willing to wait before I place my order :)

While I would love one of their F131 systems, they are a little out my price range this time around so I got a Prelude with the following components:
Black Aluminum Finish
Seasonic SLI Extreme Gaming Edition- S12-600W
NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Motherboard
E6300 Core 2
Zalman 7700 Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler
2048MB Corsair DDR2 PC5300 DDR667 (2x1024MB)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache - SATA II
7-in-1 Internal USB 2.0 Card Reader w/ Floppy Drive - Black
16X Dual Layer DVD±RW Drive w/ LightScribe Technology - black
Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi™ XtremeMusic
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
Their coolers have been upgraded to the Zalman 8000 and the 7-in-1 reader is now a 20-in-1 reader with out the floppy which is great, because I hate floppies! :)
That avatar you have makes me smile everytime; I need to start hunting for one myself!

Hope you like

Heh, that one is cool but I'm horribly inept at manipulating photos. An old man with a cup of coffee would be fitting for me as well :)
Great choice in that rig. Sounds like a winner woohoo

I appreciate the offer TrinityX! I'm an ol' fart who is addicted to coffee so I'm looking for something that symbolizes that :) I think that cat avatar would have fit me when I was younger...haha.
